German - Beginner 1 course (level A1, part 1)
Our German Beginner 1 course is for students with no or minimal prior knowledge of German.
Course description
- focus on the practical use of German in ordinary, daily situations
- focus on practicing speaking and correct pronunciation of German speech sounds, listening, reading and writing
This course will teach you
- to introduce and express yourself in common situations and on simple topics
- to make a phone call
- to describe the place you live
- to count to one million
- to ask for and understand directions and informational signs
- to communicate in stores and ask for food and drinks
- to agree and disagree with something
- to understand time (time, date, months, and years)
In terms of grammar you will learn to use
- definite, indefinite and zero article
- plural of nouns
- verb conjugation in present tense and negative forms of verbs
- separable verbs
- accusative of nouns
- word formation
- prepositions aus, in, am, um, von ... bis
- pronouns (personal, demonstrative, and possessive)
- local adverbs

German - Beginner 2 course (level A1, part 2)
Our German Beginner 2 course is for students who passed the Beginner 1 course or those who can use conjugation of verbs in present tense, articles, plural and accusative of nouns; can use very limited vocabulary and e.g. are able to introduce themselves, communicate in shops and restaurants etc.
Course description
- focus on the practical use of German in ordinary, daily situations
- focus on practicing speaking and correct pronunciation of German speech sounds, listening, reading and writing
This course will teach you
- to speak about events in the past
- to make a call and ask for a job
- to communicate at authorities and offices
- to fill in forms (e.g. residence registration)
- to communicate at the doctor's
- to invite somebody to a celebration
- to ask and answer in a very polite way
In terms of grammar you will learn to use
- modal verbs
- past tense (Perfekt)
- past tense (Präteritum) of verbs sein and haben
- local and temporal prepositions
- pronoun man
- imperative
- dative and accusative prepositions
- verbs with different prefixes
- conjunctions
- consecutive numbers

German - Pre-Intermediate 1 course (level A2, part 1)
Our German Pre-Intermediate course is for students who passed the Beginner 3 course or those who can handle the grammar and lexicology from the courses Beginner 1-3 (see above).
Course description
- focus on the practical use of German in ordinary, daily situations
- focus further on practicing speaking, writing, listening and understanding
This course will teach you
- to describe your travel experience
- to write a letter/email/postcard in German
- to hold a converstation in a restaurant
- to make and answer phone calls at your workplace
In terms of grammar you will learn to use
- causal clauses with weil
- past tense Perfekt of verbs with separable and inseparable prefixes
- genitive case (Julias Mutter) and preposition von (der Vater von Julia)
- prepositions with the dative and accusative cases (auf den Tisch - auf dem Tisch)
- verbs stellen X stehen, legen X liegen
- adverbs (rein, hinaus, runter, raus)
- conjunction wenn
- Konjunktiv II: sollte
- possessive pronouns in the nominative and accusative cases (Meiner ist kaputt. Kann ich deinen haben?)
